Share Market Tumbles in early trading

The Australian sharemarket has dropped 2.15 percent in early trading in reaction to the Dow Jones fell to its lowest level in three months.

Overnight trading in New York saw the Dow average fall 218.35 to 12958.44 overnight after global investment banking and securities firm, Goldman Sachs recommended selling Citigroup shares.

Goldman Sachs advised customers that the biggest U.S. bank was expected to write off $US15 billion over the next two quarters and their rating had been downgraded from neutral to selling.
