Australian trade deficit hits 36 year high
Australia's trade deficit figure hit a 36-year high in October with exports falling on the back of a strong Australian dollar (AUD).
Exports fell three percent despite the mining boom with the rural Australia hardest hit by the drought and the strength of the Aussie dollar.
Surprisingly, mining exports dropped for a second straight month despite the seemingly high demand for workers as projects expand in the Australian outback.
