Jerome Kerviel the 'rogue' French trader at the centre of an $8 billion loss by French bank Societe Generale has been released from custody without charges being laid against him.

Meanwhile, shareholders who have seen their stock plummet scandal, have filed a law suit for insider trading and manipulating share prices against a supervisory board member after the market regulator AMF revealed that they sold shares worth €85.7 million on January 9.
