Stock market closes down

The Australian share market closed slightly down after Wednesday's trading with the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index down 40.4 points at 6087.7 while the All Ordinaries lost 46.2 points to 6159.5.

The share prices of the leading Australian Banks all dropped today with the Commonwealth bank the biggest loser. CBA shares lost 89 cents to finish the day at $56.84, The NAB fell 42 cents to $35.59, ANZ was down 40 cents at $26.35 and the Westpac Banking Corporation lost 29 cents to $26.96.
