Dollar opens stronger ahead of interest rate rise

The Australian dollar opened stronger today nearing the USD$.91 mark as the market expects an official interest rate rise.

The Reserve Bank of Australia will make an announcement at 2:30pm today with almost all economists believing the official cash rate will rise .25% to 7%.

The dollar opened trading today USD$0.9093/97, which was up from yesterday's closing rate of USD$ 0.9047/52.
