Monday June 30, 2008
Banks are capable of covering a much wider range of finance products and services than other more specialised institutions. From home loans and savings accounts to insurance and credit cards, banks will often feature every major personal finance product.
When comparing the products and services that banks can offer with those that specialised businesses offer, there are certain advantages for banks in terms of volume. For instance, banks may offer a particular service on favourable terms, such as a savings account, if another service is used as well, such as a loan. The specialised businesses can really only compete on whichever product or service they specialise in, and while they may offer very personal service, they may not be able to offer the most attractive financial incentives.
