What sort of account do I need?

29 July 2008

If you're looking to save your money, ask your banks what sort of accounts they offer. Many banks offer everyday transaction accounts and savings accounts. Depending on what you want to use the account for, different accounts might be more worthwhile than others.

Everyday accounts are technically savings accounts, but if you're using them on a daily basis, then you aren't really saving your money. Many banks offer accounts that offer unlimited withdrawals and transfers. These types of accounts are more suited to be used every day.

Savings accounts usually offer higher interest and stricter terms than others. Some may have limited free withdrawals, thus charging you fees on your withdrawals. If you don't make withdrawals, you can earn bonus interest with some banks. These might be more suited for you if you want to earn more money with your savings.

Compares bank accounts now to find the right savings accounts and the right everyday transaction accounts for you.
