Banks offering low cost credit cards

Thursday August 14, 2008

Banks offer interest free days on purchases for many of their credit cards, which can lead to low overall costs when combined with low annual fees. Considering rising interest rates, it's important to find credit cards from banks that can offer access to credit cards as a convenient form of payment while not costing a tremendous amount to use.

Commonwealth Bank

The Commonwealth Bank Low Fee Card competes well with similar offerings from other banks by providing up to 55 days interest free on purchases and costing only $24 in annual fees. It has a purchase rate of 19.64% p.a. but if the interest free days are used correctly, interest charges can be avoided entirely.

NAB

NAB Visa Mini also offers a great deal on fees and interest free days compared to many other credit cards from banks. With up to 55 interest free days on purchases for $24 in annual fees, the NAB Visa Mini charges 19.74% p.a. in interest on both purchases and cash advances. This makes the NAB Visa Mini very good value if interest charges are avoided using the interest free days.
