New ING Direct banks account has no ATM fees
Tuesday August 25, 2009
ING Direct has launched its "Orange Everyday" account which offers free banking for people after the launch of Australia's first fee-free transaction account. The new account will have no monthly account fee, no overdraft fees and no exception fees attached which will undoubtedly attract many customers tired of paying millions of dollars in fees every year to the big banks in Australia.
What's more, the new ING Direct account will cover the fees for using rival banks' ATMs, meaning that their customers can use any ATM in Australia for no additional fees of charges. Industry experts are saying that this is a genius move given the current consumer sentiment at ATM fees and how angered many customers are by these additional charges.
ING Direct stated that these sorts of fees are entirely unnecessary from a banks perspective as they are not important in the profit making process.
Furthermore, experts believe that this may even change the face of banking with pressure to build on the big banks to adopt a similar level of customer service.
Currently ING Direct has 1.25 million mortgage and savings accounts Australian customers.
